Dr. Seuss Themed Baby Shower

June 8, 2012

If you follow me on twitter, facebook or instagram, then you might recall some pictures I posted a while back, of some fun little details I was working on for a special baby shower. At long last, I’ve uploaded the mock-up meeting images to share with you! Which, I will admit, are much better than the iPhone images of the actual party. You can see some of those iPhone images here!

Because it was a Dr. Seuss themed party, I thought it would be fun to have the guests bring books instead of cards for the baby. So, on the invitation, we used some sweet rhymey (not a word) wording asking guests to bring books with some nice words inside, so that the parents to be could read to the baby! These were added on a cute little pop-out card (see the picture below).  Then came all the fun details! Instead of regular napkins we found the perfect red & white striped napkins and tied them into little bow-ties. We created custom menu’s since the guests had to pre-select their meals. This helped the servers move faster while games were being played.  We created a sweet little mimosa station and added the perfect blue & white & red & white striped straws to the glasses. On one side they had the guest of honor’s name, on the other they said Sip One & Sip Two! My clever 11 year old thought that up! Since it was a baby shower, and Renee (mom to be) was about to “pop”, we had a fun “pop”corn bar and the signage was a play on Dr. Seuss’ famous, Hop on Pop- Get it?!! I didn’t do a mock-up of that, but you can see some pictures of that here as well! As another sweet little favor, we had candy bars with some clever wording by my friend Mindy Weiss (if you catch her at 11pm, during a game of scramble, she is quite witty!)- thanks Min!

I do hope you enjoy!

This was such a creative party. Every detail was taken care of and in such a creative way. Every time I turned around I saw something else that I thought was the sweetest thing. Very creative and so well executed.
